As a popular speaker at industry, research, and health conferences, Carrie Hayter challenges all stakeholders to involve people with lived experience and lived expertise and communities in designing health services, health research, as well as promoting inclusion of people with disability and older people in local communities. Using her knowledge of national and international research she describes how to translate these ideas into practice to improve outcomes for people who use health, aged care and disability service systems.
Since 2012, she has spoken at national and international conferences about the challenges of implementing personalised support and consumer-directed care for people using health services, older people, people with disability.
